Sugarcane Control Board

The State Government has constituted Sugarcane Control Board as provided for under Section 3 of Karnataka Sugarcane (Regulation of Purchase and Supply) Act -2013 and the Amendment Act -2014 to conduct duties and programmes as envisaged under the said Act. The Chairman and the Members of the board are as follows:

The Head Quarters of the Board will be situated at Bengaluru.

 

The Meeting Notice of the Board, the venue of the meeting, quorum and the procedures for conducting the programmes the board will be as formulated.

 

The term of Govt. Nominee will be three years from the date of being so nominated and no member so nominated will be eligible for re-nomination for the second time.

 

Functions of the Board:

 

  1. To recommend ways and means of maintaining healthy relations between occupier of the factory and cane growers.

 

  1. To offer advice on any matter which be referred to it by the Government of Commissioner for Cane Development and Director of Sugar, especially in respect of the regulation of the purchase of the sugarcane.

 

  1. To bring to the notice of Commissioner for Cane Development and Director of Sugar, cases of breach of any of the provisions of the Act and of the Rules made under and to make suggestions for the prevention of the same.

 

  1. To advice the Government regarding suitability or otherwise of cane varieties for cultivating indifferent regions.

 

  1. To advice the Commissioner for Cane Development and Director of Sugar in the sugarcane development work.

 

  1. To decide sugarcane price on revenue sharing basis taking into consideration actual revenue realization from sugar, bagasse, molasses and pressmud
